Tyler Laird

Tyler was raised in Cardigan & has been an integral part of Laird Tree Care for 15 years. Working alongside his dad and brother, he’s been a climbing arborist for 6 years. Tyler is the site foremen and makes sure the jobs run smoothly day to day.

What was some of the most memorable tree work you have done?

After Fiona, we teamed up with companies across the island, using cranes and other big machinery to remove large trees off of houses and buildings.

Connor Laird

Connor is 1/3 of the Laird boys and has been working alongside his dad and brother in the business for 11 years. Connor is a jack of all traits, especially when it comes to fixing and maneuvering anything mechanical.

What is your most valuable piece of equipment to use?

The piece of equipment that is most useful to me would have to be my chainsaw pants and the rest of my PPE. Working with trees and chainsaw everyday, you can get complacent and forget the dangers of the hob and equipment you use, The chainsaw pants and other PPE keeps your body safe for the moments you may get lazy or the unexpected happens.

Jackson AKA Monster

Monster hails from Stratford PEI and is our youngest, but mightiest member. He has been with Laird Tree Care for nearly a year now and is working on becoming a climbing arborist.

What advice would you give to someone considering a career in arboriculture or tree care?

The only advice I can give would be to just go and try to find a tree company to work for I was considering doing tree work for a while but I didn’t know if a company would hire me because of my age and I didn’t know what the requirements were for arborists but looking back I wish I had reached out sooner.

Adam

Adam hails from Hazelbrook, PEI. Following some time away spent in British Columbia honing his arborist skills, he recently returned to PEI to become part of the Laird Tree Care team.

If you could have a treehouse anywhere in the world, in any tree, where would it be and why?

In British Columbia up in a big ol’ Douglas Fir tree.
